Homeland trip

I did it!  I saved $40.54 and spent $8.44!  It was awesome!  Here is what I got.

Ahhh...tornado season

Jason yells from the other room, "Tornados in Texas Panhandle!".  Time to turn it to channel 9 and be entertained at the commentary between Gary England and Val on the Getner.  Love this time of year!

Big Pops

Have you ever had a certain place that it is the only place you will go to for a drink?  Well I MUST only go to one place to get a big pop.  Chisholm Corner across from the hospital is my place of choice.  I so dearly love their 44 oz cokes.  Extra syrup and the fun variety of folks who work the window.  Michelle, who has been at that location long before it was ever Chisholm Corner, is our favorite one.  See…we make special trips on Saturday and Sundays, just for a pop.  Sometimes we have other stuff to do, but for the most part, it has become a weekend family trip.  Both days.  Big pops all around! 

My hubby just calls me from his truck asking me to tell him whether to stop and get one now or later as he is coming back through town.  He works for the local paper.  He gets to run all over town all day and be in the nice weather.  Me, stuck at a cubicle desk without any windows but that is a whole other story.  Anyway, I tell him just wait til he is coming back through town.  He says reason he called me was because he knew I would say get one now (cause I usually would)!  If he waited though, I might squeeze one out of him! mwaa haa haa  But the stinker is getting one now.  Oh well.  Maybe next time.

The Meeting

I met......The Pioneer Woman.  She came to speak at a function for the hospital foundation.  She is a very sweet, soft spoken person.  She brought Marlboro Man.  Many women fainted as he walked by....ok...they drooled as he walked by.  I on the other hand was focused on getting to her to hand her the hot dog that I had gotten for her.  See...on her way down to our neck of the woods in Oklahoma she blogged about stopping at a convenience store and getting a hot dog and donuts.  Marlboro Man would not get her a second dog.  By the end of the conversation, she said she wanted a second hot dog.  So I in my quirky ways decided to go to the cafeteria to get her a hot dog.  Wrapped it up and put in a to go box and in a bag.   When she came in the front door, my mother-in-law pushed me at her to give it to her.  Let me say...she was quite surprised.  She couldn't believe I had already read it.  She said it is like real-time blogging!  On the other hand I got called a stalker by others!  ha  It is something that I hope she never forgets and I will always be known as the hot dog lady. 

Book to read with your daughter

 I was told by a friend that this was a good book to go over with your daughter.  Going to try it with my oldest when it comes.

Boston

I get to go back to Boston again.  Dragging the hubby and mother-in-law with me.  They play while I work.  Not sure how that is fair.  Hubby came last time and played all by himself in Boston.  He went all over the place.  Made me nervous.  At least his mommy will be with him to get in trouble with, just in case. ;-)  Looking forward to seeing another Red Sox game though.  That stadium has the coolest feeling especially when they start singing "Sweet Caroline, bah bah bah!".  LOVE IT!

Here I go...

Like I have time to mess with a blog, but I find that there is a lot of information (freebies) that would be good to pass along. So...today...I begin a blog. Not only to bore you with any witty words but to send you freebies found on the internet. Let's see how this goes, eh?

I have don't ever remember being much of a people person. In fact, my cubicle at work is now like a mini box to cut me off as much as possible. I do like to poke my head out from time to time and make a comment, shoot someone with the nerf gun or see if I can hit the lady farthest from me with a rubber band. Here is my one-liner that describes me pretty well:

"Everyone brings joy to the office, some when they enter, others when they leave."

Most the time....it is when they leave. ;-)
